14ft All Electric Pizza Food Bus for Alchemizza, Boulder, CO

Alchemizza 14ft pizza food bus in a red and white wrap with the side door open, built for Boulder, Colorado

A 14ft school bus converted into an all electric pizza bus for Alchemizza, an artisan sourdough pizza business in Boulder, Colorado. There is no generator on board. The generator box holds a stack of lithium battery modules with built in heating and an inverter, feeding a 125 amp panel and 12 outlets.

The only propane on the bus fires the oven. It is a Gozney dome oven, the first we have fitted, vented through its own chimney and sitting on a 48 inch Atosa worktop refrigerator. A make-up air fan keeps the inside of the bus at a slight positive pressure, which pushes the smoke up and out of the oven chimney instead of letting it drift back into the kitchen. Getting the oven approved took a conversation with the health department.

Beside the oven is a 67 inch Atosa refrigerated pizza prep table with a full width cutting board, two 6ft work tables and three wall shelves. There is a three compartment sink, a hand sink, a water heater and pump, 30 gallon fresh and 40 gallon grey tanks, a 5 by 3 self closing three section window, air conditioning with heat, FRP walls over insulation and an aluminium diamond plate floor.

In Boulder the health licence comes from Boulder County Public Health, the city issues a two year mobile food vehicle licence, and Boulder Fire-Rescue inspects the truck and limits propane to 50 gallons of water capacity.
